EV Charger Installation: electrical equipment and assessment
NEXT STEP

What this means for your property

Retain commissioning and warranty details. Know who handles equipment faults and who supports the installation.

What an assessment can establish

A charge point is selected around the incoming supply, existing demand, earthing arrangement, cable route and where the vehicle parks. Smart features and tariffs matter, but they come after establishing a suitable installation. Shared parking and leased property add permission and access questions.

When the issue needs assessment, our ev charger installation page describes the scope and preparation for that work.

Information to have ready

Send parking and meter-position photographs taken without opening equipment, plus the approximate cable route.

Apply this guidance to the next step

Use the appointment process to agree access and the purpose of the visit. For another question about the same system, read What to Expect During a Home EV Charger Installation.

Do not remove covers or touch exposed electrical parts. If there is smoke, fire or an immediate danger to life, move away and contact the appropriate emergency service.
